Dodford First School is situated in the beautiful village of Dodford, three miles west of Bromsgrove. The school, which was established in 1877, has a long history within the village and continues to maintain close links with the community to enhance the school curriculum.

The school’s semi-rural location offers pupils and families a wonderful experience of the outdoors with nature gardens, a pond and raised beds. This is further extended by the school’s sustained passion for the Eco- Schools Programme and we are proud to have been awarded our Eco-Schools Green Flag Distinction in 2024.

As a small school with a maximum of 75 pupils, our values of respect, courage, diversity, independence, collaboration, honesty and resilience underpin the ethos of our happy school community. Our pupils work together in their mixed age classes; Wrens, Robins and Owls, as a small family, helping each other and working cooperatively to ensure Dodford First School is a happy place to learn and play. We recently welcomed our first pre-school pupils (September 2024) and look forward to seeing our nursery provision expand further to meet the needs of our community.

In September 2024 the school also opened our new wraparound care club, The Nest. Opening from 7.30am – 6.00pm each day we offer high quality childcare for pupils across the school.
The school offers a range of extracurricular opportunities ; Multi skills club, football club, Eco club, choir and piano tuition. We also have coaches in school to develop skills in PE and sports lessons. We celebrate our achievements at the end of each year in our Schools Games Day event.

Dodford First School has a thriving PTA who are actively involved in fundraising to maintain and transform our school as well as funding visits and visitors to enrich the curriculum. We also fund raise for charities ensuring our pupils are encouraged to be kind citizens now and in the future.
