Home School Agreement.

At Dodford First School, we believe that a strong and positive partnership between school, home and our children is essential in creating a happy, safe and supportive learning environment. Our Home–School Agreement sets out the shared responsibilities and expectations of the school, our pupils and their families, ensuring that we work together to provide the very best opportunities for every child to learn, develop and thrive.

As a school, we are committed to treating all children courteously, consistently and fairly, providing a high-quality, balanced curriculum that meets their individual needs. We aim to make learning exciting and enjoyable, creating an environment where children feel safe, secure and confident to explore new opportunities. We also recognise the importance of maintaining regular communication with parents and carers, celebrating children's achievements and keeping families informed about their child's progress and school activities.

Our Home–School Agreement also encourages children to take an active role in their learning and development. We want every child to try their best, demonstrate positive behaviour, follow our school rules and make the most of the opportunities available to them. We encourage children to develop healthy habits, become increasingly independent and feel confident in speaking to a trusted adult if they have any worries or concerns.

Parents and carers play a vital role in supporting their child's education, and our agreement outlines the ways in which families can work alongside the school. This includes supporting regular attendance and punctuality, encouraging positive attitudes towards learning, maintaining open communication with staff and taking an active interest in their child's progress. We also recognise the importance of learning at home, particularly through regular reading together and supporting the home learning opportunities provided by the school.

By working together and sharing these commitments, we can build a strong sense of community and ensure that every child receives the encouragement, guidance and support they need to achieve their full potential.
