At Dodford First, we take privacy and data protection seriously. This Privacy & Data Protection information is provided to help parents understand how we collect, use, and safeguard personal information about pupils and families in line with UK data protection laws, including the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

We collect information to run the school effectively, including to support teaching and learning, manage attendance, and provide pastoral care. This may include pupil details such as contact information, safeguarding information, and records related to progress and wellbeing, as well as information about parents and carers where it is needed to communicate with you and meet our responsibilities.

Arbor is our MIS system. We use Arbor to manage school information securely, including pupil records, attendance information, and relevant administrative details. Where information is processed through Arbor, it is handled in accordance with our policies and appropriate security measures to help protect it from unauthorised access or disclosure.

We share personal information only when necessary and in line with legal requirements. This may include sharing with the Local Authority, the Department for Education, safeguarding partners, and other organisations where there is a lawful basis to do so. We also use carefully selected service providers that process information on our behalf, with appropriate contracts and security arrangements in place.

We keep personal data for as long as necessary for the purposes set out in our retention guidance, and we review records regularly to ensure they remain accurate and relevant. Parents have rights under data protection law, including the right to access information we hold, and to request corrections where appropriate.
